VolksTrek™ - Melbourne to Perth 2010

There is no better way to see this country than through the windscreen of a VW. Join us for an epic journey across this great continent in late 2010.

All types of VWs will be welcome but they must be in sound condition and able to cope with the 4000 plus km journey. The plan is to depart Melbourne from the Day of the Volkswagen event in November. From there we will wind our way long the coast to South Australia and if we have time, stop in to a few wineries in the Barossa valley on the way. The goal is to arrive in South Australia the following weekend ready for the VolksFest event. Departing that event, we will head off towards Perth. Following a scenic route, we will again have a week to arrive in Perth in time to attend the Day of the Volkswagen (W.A.). From there participants can choose when and how they find their way back home. Should enough vehicles be interested we will charted a truck to ship vehicles back home and the drivers can fly or catch the train. Other options include putting your car on the train or you can drive home if you are really keen.

This event is also open to overseas participants wanting to ship their vehicle over (or hire something here). I can't imagine a better way to see Australia. We will do our best to help with shipping and we'll look into some arrangements once the committee gets underway.
